Murals have interested me since I first saw one of California falling into the ocean while on a bike ride in West Los Angeles.
Now I post a mural photo every day on Instagram, with mural location and artist info. Then I write the artist to see if I got anything wrong, and occasionally I get more details. 550 murals so far. If you have an Instagram account, please follow me on Instagram.
Since many people don’t like social media, here’s a public copy of my murals, that’s searchable. Murals - searchable.
A very good friend convinced me to try Google Earth Web as a way to incorporate the maps, along with higher resolution images. So far only a couple hundred murals have been moved over there, but they’re arranged by city. Take a look at Google Earth for Web.
Finally, I wrote a blog post after a road trip in June 2019 where I listed all the mural maps for the cities we went through. I hope to build that up to a much larger collection at some point. In the meantime see Road Trip Mural Maps.
Here are some murals from my collection.
